GET SOME MUCH NEEDED FUNDING FOR YOUR CLUB
With spending cuts nationally and locally, getting to know about potential grants and funding is becoming harder. There’s funding out there, but knowing where to look can be a real minefield, so here’s some useful links on where to look:
THE FA (www.thefa.com)
Funding is available upon application, subject to meeting certain criteria, from the Football Foundation, the UK’s largest sports charity. Funded by The Football Association, the Premier League and the Government, the Foundation directs £36m every year into grassroots sport.
McDonald’s, one of the English FA’s official sponsors, also provide funding support, for smaller projects between £500 and £2500, to help develop football from the grassroots. Whether your club would benefit from a new set of goals, your own line marker, or funding to send your coaches on courses, the KickStart Grant scheme offers flexible support to help your club develop. There’s also a handy downloadable guide called “Generic Process for Facility Development” which you can access from the FA website.
Provides grants of up to £10,000 and the Sport England website provides a useful checklist and application guide
Well worth a look The Premier League & The FA Facilities Fund provides grants for building or refurbishing grassroots facilities, such as changing pavilions and playing surfaces for community benefit, with money provided by the Premier League, The FA and the Government (via Sport England) and delivered by the Foundation. The Premier League and The FA Facilities Fund Small Grants Scheme awards grants of up to £10,000 for the provision of capital items, or to refurbish/improve existing facilities.
This is a useful website which provides direct links to other potential funding sources.
